We Do Provide Stirrups in Slab.

What is stirrups ?

It's a extra reinforcement we provide to keep the main reinforcement in position and resist excessive stress.

The Secondary reinforcement (Distribution Steel) provided in slab has the same purpose.

Thus we provide the stirrups in slab in the form of distribution reinforcement.

Actually whenever you consider a term in Civil Engineering don't just go for its shape follow purpose-approach, this will make your way easy. Every structure / member in Building works in similar way as others (few exceptions) thus the design of most of the members is same iust with the different notation/names.
